This is a perfect example of the political system in this country. Creative book keeping is looked on as being very naughty, only if you get caught. Have a look at how new GDP figures are going to be calculated and how they have been revised to fit 2009. If you are a gov you can change the rules to suit any eventuality. If you want change you have to want it. I have looked and read all that members replies on posts I have started,it makes grim reading.All bar the 'smart' add nothing that is not already known.Nobody comes upwith a solution.Politicians since the war have constantly failed to deliver prosperity and some figures cannot be adjusted. I have suggested a 'rough' idea which is necessary to stop the rot. If you think and play in the system you are the system. If England plc with it's various boards performed as a business [which they should do] we the people would be living in squaller.It is only the many many taxes that keep us afloat. Of course this doesn't include the massive losses of tax dough for one, on the virgin train franchise farce or all the oversea aid we give and still find money to put on the olympics whilst citizens lose their homes and go to food banks. No wonder everybody wants to come here. World's biggest charity.
