My 1/4-turn kitchen sink mixer tap is dripping. It's a cheap one from Focus, so I don't know its brand. I've looked on the internet for replacment valve cartridges, but all I can find is ones specific to their own brand of tap.

I haven't disassembled my tap yet, but I suspect it's a 1/2" cartridge. Is there a generic standard, or a small range of standards that I might be able to match, so that I can replace it? Or is every manufacturer different in a minute, but significant, way?

Here's an example of the kind of thing I've found http://www.tradingdepot.co.uk/DEF/product/!!255003!!/ but, as you see, they say it's particular to a limited range of taps.

Thankyou Charnwood. I should be able to find a match there.

Edit: Oh dear, my existing one has 22 splines, so doesn't feature on their web site. I suppose I might be able to match the other dimensions and then get a knob to match whatever splines it has.
