Hi all,

A friend has designed a logo for my shop that looks great on screen, but needs to look great in reality too!

I need to match the colour that she has chosen to paint, initally in gloss - hopefully in a something I can spay as hoping to spray logo onto radiators . . .

I have the CMYK colours, anyone know if I can get paint mixed to these? Have searched to no avail . . .

thanks

Huey

It's a good idea but I've never heard of it being done. They can only replicate colour charts (AFAIK).

Not sure-

what you see on the screen is rgb and will vary from screen to screen depending on calibration.

I guess that you could print it onto paper and if happy with the colours you could have then scanned by your local store

thanks guys - I think I might be able to borrow the swatch so will take that to the paint shop . .

cheers

They'll only offer you the closest known match - not an actual colour that you take in.

"'i've had a few disasters with the colour matching service - the colour has never been quite the colour I wanted (bit fussy!). Dulux colour references are NCS codes (Natural Colour System) so you should be able to find a conversion chart from Pantone to NSC (google it) then take the NCS code to be mixed up (most in house mixing services can use NCS codes). The trouble is that the reference you've been given doesn't look like a pantone reference to me, but I could be wrong. The matching service might be the best option after all!"
