Repost as I didn’t get any replies last time. Hopefully someone has some ideas. I had cork tiles over floorboards installed by a builder 5 years ago. I know this isn’t the right method and they should have been laid on ply but they have lasted fine and only needed to come up to fix a leak recently. I want to lay replacement cork tiles so they are level with the remaining cork tile flooring. Does anyone have any idea what sort of method and product it looks like he used for these (see photos)? I can’t contact him to ask as he is no longer in U.K. Is it a standard tile adhesive or a contact cement? Does it look like a self levelling compound was used first? (Looks like a thin layer of grey than white adhesive maybe?) Any products you can recommend I use?
How would you do it to have best chance of it lasting without relaying the whole floor?
