Getting Rid of Trunking and chasing in wires

I would suggest, assuming you are fit enough, to tackle the job yourself and treat it as a learning exercise. Do one room at a time, when you plan to redecorate each room, with priority given to the more important rooms first. There is plenty of advice to be had on this site, should you need it.

The problem being, that it's not a nice job which anyone likes doing, so any professional quoting to do it will over price it, so it makes doing the job well worth their while to tackle it. It is the sort of job an handyman in need of the work, might be able to do and quote a sensible price for.

I'd never thought about the handy man route as a stepping stone between DIY & Electrician.(y)
