Does anyone have any good links to givenergy support groups ?

My 4 yo inverter has shut down. The company who installed it are going to look into it for me. Everyone probably knows GE went bust recently so I have no cover.

Just trying to work out what to do.

I think it died because I signed up to AXLE ENERGY only a few days before and they sell my surplus energy on for a good price. They messaged me saying they would be taking energy on the 7th July and it all went ok, but I did not check the solar system until a few days later. The inverter stopped updating from the 11th July, so this must have been when it died. Axle took energy on the 7th of July, so there was a 4 day gap between these events. It just seems strange that my inverter has died pretty much at the same time I allowed Axle to control the inverter.

Does anyone have any knowledge of what may have happened here ?

I would not have thought that it should be possible for any 'controlling of the inverter', by anyone, to result in it's death.

However, presumably all you actually know is what you've told us - that the inverter has 'shut down' (which presumably just means 'not working'?) - but that by no means it is necessarily 'dead'. Indeed, in a silly extreme scenario, the 'controlling the inverter' might have merely amounted to 'switching it off', or putting it into some sort of hibernation :-)

they get so hot this time of year, mine exports 6kW for about 6 hours a day and the air rising out of the back of it is mid 50's

i wondering have you just started exporting and this extra strain (esp in this hot spell) has been too much for it

I exported 2kw to Axel energy on 7th July. think it was in the evening. The rest of the time I am exporting to the grid as normal in summer as the system generates more power than we can use. Got 10 panels and generally export 10-15kw per day in the summer.

So there is a chance the inverter has just been switched off by accident ? I have emailed Axel energy but they say to reset the system, which I have done.
