gloss

hi i am about to gloss the stairs and door frames. the previous tenants glossed it green. is it possible just to white gloss over it. do i need to use primer. or is it best to strip the green gloss then gloss.

id sand them down so there smoth then undercoat them whith white undercoat till the green has gone then gloss them

thanks will give that a try. was not looking forward to stripping the paint as it will take ages but will sand and undercoat.

Depends how dark the green is but as mentioned, gentle sanding down and apply one or two coats of undercoat sanded between. Then apply your top coat of gloss or satinwood.
