Glow plug light flashing

I have a Touran. Glow plug and engine management light came on, garage replaced the EGR. Several months later , Glow plug light is flashing again. Code 0403 on code reader. I've reset it a few times as I need car for work, (stop it going into limp mode).
Now it comes straight back on after reset , started when it was heavy rain, seems worse in wet conditions .
Any help would be great. Don't want to pay for long comp diagnostic at garage .

That fault code is for the EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valve. They are not particularly reliable and can seize or fail electrically. There are other things (wiring breaks/earthing or even ECU faults that can cause that code. See http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/16787/P0403/001027
