My aged mother in law has a back boiler and fire which is causing us some concern.
The only markings visible are " Glow Warm Majorca 240/6" on the fire which is the freestanding type with four heating bars and controls on the side near the top.
The two inner elements are used for the 'low' setting, all four lighting for the "high". For some time the low setting elements, whilst working, do not appear to be lit.
This has lead to her 'adjusting ' the controls on occasion and we are worried she may inadvertently leave the fire opperating before she retires for the evening, (she lives alone). The fire has been checked by a gas engineer who regularly services it. He confirms it is ok but is unable to get spares.
Can any advise on the correct name/make of the fire if not as above (Baxi?) and possible source of spares?
If spares are unavailable, could the fire be replaced or will a new installation be required, and if so, will a new back-boiler suffice or will a condenser be the only option?
