The problem is that I have central heatting (occasionally) and barely warm water. It occasionally flashes with an F1 or F5 error but if I wait a day or so and turn it on and off again the central heating kicks in fine but I still have barely warm water.

When I called my boiler insurance about it,they came out and the man told me nothing was wrong and to buy a "jacket" for it? I haven't done this, but would this actually help as I have central heating no problem, the main issuse is the water (unl;ess it flashes an F1 or F5 error).

I also don't know whether the thermostate being below the loft ventilation has anything to do with the temperature gauage (again, the boiler insurance said there was nothing wrong with this)

Any help would be much appreciated

Are you sure he didn't mean a jacket for you?

Sounds like he is talking out of his proverbial.

You have a fault, he couldn't find it, so made up some ridiculous line to get him out of your house.

Get back on to your boiler insurance company and ask them to send out someone who knows what they are talking about

Well he was descriptive about the "jacket" he said it protects the pipe from condensation, when he looked inside it he showed me all the condensation build up and reccommended this.

As for the resetting the stat, I haven't touched anything inside the boiler

Just realised yesterday if I put my thermostat up to 25c and wait a few hours I get hot water!

I am concerned that the insurance company will charge me for call out as they couldn't find a fault last time so any extra information I have to give them would be really helpful! I'll mention your replies and any subsequent replies as well
