hi just moved in to a house with this boiler it looks old but works.but there is no paper work for it and i cant find any on the net.but i need to know how it works as the hot walter come out the tap very slow.also how do i turn the temp up for the hw.i cant find no tank or taps in the place for the hot walter iv got a dial on the front of the boiler a timer one for the rads but no fink for the walter i have got a temp stat in the living room but i think its for the rads but no sure i have no clue on boilers.any help will be good many thanks. should i have a tank in the loft or not as my last place had a tank but no boiler.

you've got a combi boiler, so no tanks. Also sounds like its not working properly, or your just not used to the poor performance of a 24kw combi boiler. The flow rate should be around 9l/min with a 30c rise in temp from the main. So if your cold water is say 15c then your hot should be 45c.
This from the manual
"NOTE. The mains water temperature in the winter is lower than
in the summer.
The water temperature can be increased or reduced by adjusting
the flow rate at the hot water draw off tap."
If the water still is not performing correctly then you could have a fault, in a hard water area it could well be the main heat exchanger. I live in a very hard water area and you don't generally get more than 10years constant use from a "biflo" style heat exchanger without good scale protection.

micky i thought this boiler had any adjustable water throttle on the cold supply to the boiler :?:

yeh your right, but it sounds like the water isn't hot even with the flow he has if he wants to turn the temp up, so I don' think that's gonna be the problem.

thanks for your help could you tell me what tap it is to turn the temp up there is few taps under the boiler but there is a flexi pipe with a black tap on it meny thanks

Before you start fiddling you should measure the hot water flow rate.

Set the hot tap to deliver the water so hot that you can hardly keep you hand in it.

Then measure the litres per minute and see how that compares with the design spec of about 8-9 li/min.
