Just a follow up on a prevoius thread of mine.

A bquick catch up for everyone.

A GW 24cxi, left hand hydroblock spewing water, replace last friday (a pig of a job), left boiler running for half an hour tested hot water numerous times etc etc, everything was hunky dory.

Phone call saturday morning, boiler is leaking worse than before B*!!*@£$ !!!!

I had a look and it was leaking from the same part and no matter what i did (apart from isolate the water) i couldn't stop it leaking.

Now, I contacted GW to try and get it replaced under warranty HA not on your nelly :x They wanted to charge £105 to replace one of their faulty components that was only 48 hours old. Fair enough, if they come and replace it and find it's down to my fitting of the part then charge me, but it's leaking down to a manufacturing fault. And surely it's covered under the unfit for sale or use law (sorry can't remember the exact name).

So tomorrow when I recieve a replacement part I have to go throughhell again :(

I'll be interested to here your opinions as the 2 times I've contacted Baxi for replacements parts they offered to replace them free of charge even though they were out of warranty, good service in my eyes.

I had a glowworm disaster only 2 months ago.In all the years ive installed boiler's ive never had a call at 11pm to tell me "the boiler's on fire". I live 2 minutes away so when i went all the pcb and facia had melted and so had the plastic part's inside so water luckily had put the flames out when it had melted the part's. I phoned them first thing and i got a independent engineer out that day ,chosen by the customer, who went over my work as the boiler was 2 day's old and he told the customer it's a manafacturer fault. I took it too my supplier who rtang the gw rep and was tolds "we wont exchange it until weve seen it". Luckily my supplier give me a new one and he's still waiting for them to visit him

Typical glow worm customer service. I don't expect anything better from them or their employees. My local glow worm rep is an ass hole, wouldn't p i s s on him if he was on fire

Well I now have a very similar opinion of them! Shall not be touching them with a barge pole1

I've only installed 1 GW, in the past 12 months, may replace the hdroblock to be safe, hate having customers phoning with problems.
