HI,

I have a Glowworm Complheat 80 boiler in which the circulating pump keeps running even whan the central heating and hot water heating are turned off! It seems to run indefinately and can only be stopped when I turn off power. Turning on power starts the pump again.

This is a pressurised, sealed system. Any ideas greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like a boiler fault in keeping the pump on overrun.

Is the boiler working otherwise normally?

Is it still under warranty?

Any service contract?

When was it last serviced?

The boiler works fine, installed 7 yrs ago, no warranty, serviced 2 yrs ago. Strangely the pump has now stopped running following me fiddling with a 2 port motorised valve by the hot water cylinder...

I don't suppose your in Ascot are you Mikeuns? I went to a job just like this several months ago. At first we changed the valve as electrically it wasn't doing what it was supposed to be doing. The boiler still wouln't work properly so I spoke to technical, followed their advice and one of the two circuit boards (I think) was thought to be suspect. I didn't get to finish the job as the bloke was moving house and didn't wanna go any further. In summary, I agree with Softus.
