Hi guys hope you can help me on this frustrating problem that I came across recently.As I do maintenance and look afterpropertys for various people somebody asked me to have a look at their boiler while they are away cutting off after 10-15min I could not say no so I went there and found boiler lock out,I started a boiler everything worked fine and after 10 min flame went out I assumed it was thermistor so I replaced it but same thing happened again there was rambling noise from boiler so I moved to the pump which worked fine there was no a air lock either.Next day I called Corgi guy I know so after some starting and locking out he said that system is probably blocked therefore needs to be cleaned which he agreed to do it.After he cleaned system(370£)boiler worked for a little longer then same thing .He changed boiler stat ,gas valve ,pump (all paid promptly out of my pocket for now)but all again the same.After that he said change the boiler I was so ****** of that I called second Corgi that I know to get different opinnion so guy came and said exchanger I called owners(still away coming back in 10 days)and told them about this and up to date costs (900£)they where fine about spending 400£ more so I had exchanger cleaned fit it back same thing again I am so emmbarased by all this and just want to sort it out before they came back I think first guy took me for a ride but he will not any more as I know his true face now.Second guy said that the exchanger that I had took for a cleaning was not done properly and he suggest that they sometimes can not be discaled .I wonder is there something else to try before I go for the new one.Please any help more then welcome.

i don't think anyone was trying to take you for a ride, they tried their best but it obviously wasn't good enough.
Agile will be on shortly saying he would of fixed it for £84, take him up on it.
the problem must be identified as i can see a new boiler being fitted & the problem remaining.
i think a lot of parts were changed unnecessarily & it still sounds like a system problem.
does hw operate ok ?
what controls/valves are on the system ?

We only diagnose the problem for £84 and thats in our local area.
If its something simple then we fix it within that price, otherwise any new parts are extra, although we dont charge any more if we have to come back with them, providing we are given the make and model and correct symptoms ( so that we can bring likely parts with us! )
Its never happened yet, but we would not make any charge if we could not diagnose the fault.
Nor do we charge for fitting parts which dont cure the problem ( but we dont leave new parts on as we would put the old ones back ). But that does not happen either as we aim to always diagnose the problem correctly the first time.

You have replied that you dont think they were deliberately taking anyone for a ride and I agree with that.
They clearly did not have any diagnostic skills and were in effect just parts changers with no idea of which parts to change first!

Thank you for replay guys ,,No it is not a wind up;; as all of that as I said where changed still confused I am sure somebody in all this made mistake .Any suggestion welcome agile I will be happy to pay £85 for diagnosing if you give me your contact we can meet there early next week job is near west london.Thx

You say this is not a wind up but you also say you have spent £900 so far
and ready to spend another £400 so in total £1300 for a repair i will be seeing you on rough traders with these prices.
You could of bought 2 brand new boilers for this.
Dont call us we will call you whats the mugs phone number i will give them a call myself if they are paying these rates one born every minute
