Gold paint

Have just moved house. At some point all the paintwork in one bedroom has been painted with gold paint!! Can this just be covered with undercoat and gloss?? [/quote]

Perhaps they had a gilt complex..

Give it a good run-a-dub with fine abrasive paper then undercoat with oil based stuff..

Or dulux super grip primer then undercoat.

Might be worth a trial sample before you repaint the lot? Some metallic paints have big flakes in a shellac or similar varnish carrier which doesn't overpaint well.

Was it formerly commercial premises?
