They do have a legal duty to know not only the nature of the cargo but also its weight.

Tans-Atlantic voyager (twice). Boat attacked and set on fire. Incredibly brave woman. Not a lot can phase our Greta.

First trans-Atlantic voyage aboard a basic sail boat at 16 years old. She's one brave sailor is our Greta. None of the crotchety old dinghy duffers on here can say that.
