Goodmans GPS164R no play

I use it for CDs but its stopped working in normal play sequence.

If I switch to random play, it works.

I've cleaned the laser head with an alcohol swab and tried different CDs.

Would this be a chip fault ?

Which chip in particular?

It turned out to be dirty micro switch contacts on the play/pause button.

Spray it with contact cleaner and all seems well.
