Hi Again

Right a update and a question I need answered

OK,pressure all over the place water only sometimes gets hot finger has been pointed at a knackered expansion vessel.

BUT

The water downstairs is still boiling hot its only the shower that goes cold so is it my boiler knackered or is it the shower thermostat on the blink.

I thought if the boiler was knackered I wouldn't get any hot water ?

Thanks

First of all, if water is spurting from your expansion vessel then it's knackered, as you were informed. Has that been rectified? Irregular hot water delivery to a shower may be another fault. Follow the advice given and get the EV problem sorted. It may well be a shower fault, especially as all the other taps are working OK according to your post.

thanks for the reply pete

Im just weighing up my options really between getting the ev replaced or get a new boiler fitted as my 105e is about 11 years old

what is the life span of a boiler ??
what would you suggest pete get it repaired or get a new boiler ??

Thanks

The 105e is basically a good boiler, and you won't see a return on your investment by replacing it. Get it repaired

You seem to be making multiple postings so i have no other knowledge of your problems.

If the EV is not absorbing expansion then has it been repressurised correctly with air? Or is it known to be definately faulty?

Why would you replace a boiler at say £1700 instead or repairing for about £135 ?

water is spurting from your expansion vessel when pressed in so going on what other people say I take it that its knackered just im a bit confused why I still get hot water down stairs

Get the EV sorted and then consider the hot water issue. You might need a new hot water diaphragm too

That's rich!

Nice one, WabbitPoo!

Tony, you share lots of good advice on here, so I am not trying to knock you, but a lot of your posts appear in duplicate.

Any ideas why this is?

Sorry to bother you guys again but I have a update

Chap came out yesterday and fitted a external expansion vessel and a new hot water diaphragm

I kept a check on the pressure all evening and seamed spot on to me didn't rise or fall at all just stayed the same

But I still got the problem with the water basically you turn the hot water on the boiler will fire up for about 20sec then go out for about 20sec and keep doing that.

any ideas what that could be just want a second opinion really

thanks again

If heating is OK, then the problem is moat likely to be either a thermistor or the heat exchanger

But the hot water is always boiling hot downstairs its upstairs is the problem

The boiler is upstairs aswell and its closer to the bathroom than the kitchen

Im stumped

??????

is the problem with ALL upstairs taps - or just the Shower?? if only the Shower, then there lies your problem

Grammar and punctuation are the causes of your problem 😁

Have no idea about your problem.
