Does anyone know .....

1. Are there any boilers, condensing or not, that can operate on gravity circulation and be open vented?

2. What is the simplest open vented heat only boiler? No vessel or pump inside. It only needs to give a constant temperature and not modulate to the room temperature. Just a simple boiler.

thank you.

Gravity Circulation Systems are very wasteful of energy and not allowed now. Boilers should now be fully pumped and allow control of hot water and heating temperature.

No one in their right mind would try and get a new boiler to work on a gravity system and most boiler manufacturers would not advise their boilers used on a gravity system. What do you have against central heating pumps?

The existing boiler has gravity for the hot water, so it would make sense to use another gravity boiler for ease of installation, but a pump to do all is now needed. If a boiler is well insulated I cannot see where it is inefficient. The old cast-iron boilers leaked heat like crazy. The old Potterton Neataheats were fan flues but cast-iron and gravity as well.

What is your knowledge on Q2?

New boilers are made to comply with CURRENT Building Regulations concerning energy efficiency Gravity is no longer allowed except for solid fuel appliances so in answer to Q2. no gas boiler will be suitable ;)

Q2 is not related to Q1.
