I've had some double glazed units made. They're an odd sort of triangular shape.

Unfortunately they're a bit too wide by the two bottom corners. Is it possible to have a few mill ground off?

Could I buy a grinding tool to do it myself?

If they are PVCu units the plastic can be reduced with a power planer

If it's a DG Unit (as opposed to a window), then you might struggle. I've never had any success in grinding toughened glass (and one of the two pieces of glass might be toughened) - untoughened, however, can be ground and shaped using either a coarse diamond lapping (sharpening) plate or by using a coarse grit blue zirconium belt in a belt sander - both techniques are used by glass merchants to safe-edge glass - both require a lubricant, such as water. Wear eye protection and gloves when handling glass this way
