Hi,
I had a new water meter installed about 3 months ago. They cocked up the installation, pushing a ton of grit up me pipe. My 2 day old combi got clogged and then shut off.
A plumber was sent, cleaned out the boiler (he said there was a lot of grit in there) and away we went.
From this point the downstairs toilet broke, kitchen tap started leaking and upstairs taps did not work correctly.
Subsequently I have changed the upstairs taps and downstairs toilet.
I am now changing the kitchen tap and a load of grit has come out (Possibly sitting in the flexi hoses)
My question is, should they have purged my water system and can grit up to 5mm shards damage anything, boiler, taps, washing machine etc.
Thanks.
