Chaps,

I am about to tile my bathroom. I have bought ceramic wall tiles but plan to have a border half way up of natural stone tiles. These have lots of holes in them which the sales guy said require a "grout wash" to cover them. I was going to just grout over the tiles and then wipe away with a damp sponge in the hope that the grout will fill the holes. Is this what a grout wash is?

Also, the natural stone tiles need a sealer applying. What stage of the tiling do i do this? Before grouting, after grouting?

Thanks in advance

Just grout overthem as you do the joints and sponge off the excess as it starts to firm up, preferably use a powdered grout.

You will need to seal before grouting, for borders I prefer to lay them all out on a flat surface and give them several coats, saves getting sealer on the adjacent tiles if you do them when fixed. This will slow the setting time of the adhesive fractionally but should not be a problem.
