Hi. My washing machine waste goes into the kitchen sink waste outlet with a spiggot. Then beneath this is a McAlpine standard P trap. Then off to the waste downpipe.

When the washing machine empties and pumps out this makes the sink plug hole gurgle each time it pumps out and it is quite loud.

I am trying to quieten or eliminate altogether the gurgle sound when the washing machine empties out.

The P trap on the sink waste at the moment is a McAlpine and I believe it is the standard 40mm diameter SC10 model with 75mm water seal.

I have been googling and think perhaps the SC10V anti-syphon version of the same trap may help?? Would this quieten or get rid of the gurgle as the washing machine waste is pumped out and down through the trap via the sink waste??

A separate waste standpipe is not a possibility.

Thanks in advance.

Steve
