Hi,

When the cistern fills up after flushing the toilet, it makes a strange gurgling noise when it's full, but it stops when I run the tap for a couple of seconds, I imagine it's because I temporarily lower the pressure of the water eneting the cistern. Any ideas how to stop the strange noise? ??

Cheers!

Probably caused by wear on the ball valve seal. These cost pence to replace. Most common types are diaphragm or sliding type. The diaphragm ones are the more modern type and are usually in plastic fittings, but can be in brass fittings too. Sliding type valve has much smaller seal, about the size of a 1/2p coin.
