Hanging curtain pole next to coving

Looking for some advice. I'm looking at hanging a faux curtain panel to disguise the glass panel. However the problem I have is the coving in the top left of the photo will mean there will be a gap between the curtain ending and the wall. Any suggestions on how I can get the curtain to reach the wall.

Remove coving and terminate it at the corner or half way down the last return to stop short of window .

Thanks but was hoping to keep the coving in situ.

Coving should have never been returned into a window frame .
Ugly mess .
Don’t use curtain pole use pelmet cut to the coving to hang curtain .
