Hi all,

We recently treated our garden furniture with teak oil and large areas are still sticky over a week later...

Upon advice on other forums, I have done the following using one chair as a test:

Attempted to clean with soapy water - no success
Attempt to clean off with pledge - no success
Re-apply teak oil over the top (apparently there are solvents in it which will dissolve old residue) - awaiting results...

Any other suggestions? My next plan will be to sand them down and re-apply.

Thanks

It would suggest the furniture had some type of polish/wax on it?, had same results when varnishing a wood floor a few patches still had wax on them and this prevented the varnish drying .
