This is the outside u bend for my bathroom. Serves the sink and shower/bath plug only. It flows into the same manhole as the sewage.
I was clearing out the scum on the bath drain filter today and noticed a loose gravel at the bottom of the drain. I scraped out the top layer and found there was more of it quite firmly stuck to the bottom and sides.
I was reluctant to try and break it up in case it's an old fix for a cracked pipe or something. But has anyone seen this before or able to tell me what it is? It almost has a coal like texture.
