Has the installer damaged the 3-way valve ..

Hi - new guy here and need a bit of advice.

Just had a new condensed boiler fitted for traditional central heating/hot water system and I think the installer screwed up.

He wanted to change the feed from the expansion tank to a different pipe. Don't know why and I've changed it back now. To do this, he closed the valve on the return feed from the immersion heater. However, he did not open it again when he started up the system.

Now, the rads will only heat up when I have the hot water switched on - when it is CH only, just one radiator will come on.

Question is, did the pressure from the closed vale feed back through the 3-way valve and either jam it or break/bend whatever is internal?

Oh yea he definitely sabotaged it, I know as I have clairvoyant powers and Wiki cameras everywhere, pity you have no comeback as you have altered stuff yourself, instead of fetching him back to sort it.

Highly unlikely, if not a straight no.

You might need to provide further details about what you've got and what work was carried out for someone to be able to advise more specifically about what your problem is.

Alas he did come back, checked it - said it was nothing he'd done (didn't notice the valve was closed). Only when I got a plumber mate round to check it was noticed when he put the pipe back to its original position.

Original guy moved the inbound water-feed to the system (which was originally connected to the return feed) to the system overflow pipe! - said it was taking too long to fill the system up. Filled up alright - taken me 3 days to get the air out
