HDMI or Component?

For an 1080i source and display is HDMI considered as better or worse than component video?

This depends on which unit has the best quality decoder, if it's in the screen then HDMI wins & if it's in the player then component wins. Usually auditioning both & seeing which you prefer is the best idea.
