i have been given a HDMI cable and on the other end is the yellow/white/red line in/out style ends, my question is could i use this to run my dvd via the component outs on dvd to HDMI on tv if so can someone tell me which colours on cable would go into which on dvd

Thanks

Brett

I doubt it. Hdmi is digital.
The cable was probably for a specific piece of equipment which happened to have analogue outputs on some of the unused hdmi pins.

the cable was from a BMW portable DVD system, i fitted this into the car knowing there was a cable missing but when it all worked didn't think anything about this cable, its only when i saw it i thought i could use it, there are websites selling HDMI to component cables do think they would work? i am just trying to move away from scart if i can as i don't have much room in about the only location i can use
