Hi guys in need of advice. Header overflow pipe dripping and access to the tank is difficult.
The good news is that i intend to have a combi fitted, but not till early next year. If i put shut off valve on cold water feed to the tank , maybe open it once a week. Will this be ok?
Worried about the overflow freezing in the coming months.

The smaller tank above the big cold water tank. Access to the small tank in the loft is very difficult.

Yh if it's the small tank mate that will b fine to isolate , just make sure you isolate the mains going into the ballvalve and not the pipe coming from bottom of tank , you shouldn't really need to switch water back onto it unless you vent rads . Keep an eye on the water level for about a week when you shut it off and see if the level drops
