Hi, i was told a while ago that there was a problem with my boiler. i had it serviced and i still have no heating. one radiator works but the other 5 dont. i've bled them and read advice about it being a TRV. dont know how to tell if its a TRV but tried using a hammer - i have no skills at diy but also cant afford to pay anyone else and its freezing!

Please, please, please help me

it will have numbers on the side that you can set it to if its a trv

its a back boiler - i wouldnt where to look for more info on it. the valve has peglers and belmont written on it. i cant understand why one radiator works and the rest dont. the hot water is working and the boiler is on

is the pump running ?
where is the rad thats hot ?
if its gravity hw then the pump only works on heating check the pump.

sometimes one radiator (bathroom) is put on the HW side, so thats warm when heating is off in summer.
Or could it be the working radiator is directly above the boiler.
I note you've not mentioned the pump, which I would of thought would be the first thing to check.

i really have never done diy in my life. whats the pump?

anyway, for some reason all the upstairs ones are working now but none of the downstairs ones.

i know i'm totally clueless but have never needed to know anything except how to bleed a radiator before!

sometimes on the side behing a panel where the pipes go upstairs from boiler or underfloor upstairs.

no idea, just bought the house last year. cant understand why upstairs works and downstairs doesnt!
