heating doesn't work

who told you there was a problem?
were you happy with the way it was?
can you be more precise?
sorry about all the questions, crystal ball has packed up

i really have never done diy in my life. whats the pump?

anyway, for some reason all the upstairs ones are working now but none of the downstairs ones.

i know i'm totally clueless but have never needed to know anything except how to bleed a radiator before!

going by this post, and not being condescending, the best thing you could do is get and rgi on reccomendation and get them to sort it.

clueless diy and water always ends in tears.

it'll be cheaper in the long run.

i've never used my central heating and it turns out my water was using the immersion heater. i only found out there was a problem when someone was fixing my cooker. i dont need heat but i have someone moving in with a newborn baby and they apparently dont like to be freezing but i have no money to pay someone, people keep telling me to the look at the pump but i cant find anything resembling the picture posted. i appreciate the help but paying someone is not an option unless i win the lottery!

you don't need heat? are you talking polar bear by any chance?
best advice I can give based on the thread so far, find the money somehow, cut some costs that can be done without and find a good, sympathetic RGI.
With your level of technical knowledge, you are likely to do nothing but cause more cost, not to mention creating a dangerous situation. not a good idea at any time, and especially not when lodging vulnerable people, to put it mildly.

i'm never in the house long enough to justify putting heating on and like the cold.

i do understand what you're saying but i cant cut costs. already working 2 jobs to pay mortgage and bills. have no time for social life even if i could afford it. will keep trying a few things and see what happens i guess.
