Hi all any help would be appreciated.

My heating stopped working the other day but i am still getting hot water. I checked my boiler and it fires up for the hot water but not the heating.

I put the heating on and took off the bolt on the heating pump and it wasn't spinning. I checked it with a screwdriver and i could spin it easily.

I then changed the diverter valve to H and then the pump started spinning and the boiler kicked in and radiators heated up.

I then turned heating off and and the hot water on and the diverter valve returned to the W position. I turned the heating back on but nothing happened again.

Does this mean it is a diverter valve problem or a pump problem?

Sounds like the motor or microchip has gone in the actuator.

Depending on make a new motor can be purchased or just replace the whole actuator.
