Heating radiators when calling for hot water?

Hi everyone.

My combi-boiler (Icon 23T) has recently developed a bit of a problem. When I turn on a hot tap, it seems to take about 5-6 seconds for me to hear the microswitch 'click' and fire up the boiler.

This isn't too much of an issue, but whilst the hot water is running, it also very slowly heats all of the radiators in the house! I'm pretty sure this never happened before.

Any ideas what the problem may be?

Thanks in advance.

Bugger. Are these things essentially a little valve with a plunger type actuation? If they are, it could be that it has got a bit gunked up and needs a bit of a clean, hence the slow operation..?

At least it's 'reasonably' accessible on this boiler...

could well be worth a shot ;)

after you clean it get some silicone grease and lube it ;)

might be worth putting some cleanser in the system as well
