Heating systems,im interested to find out how good/bad mine is..I live in a 3 bedroom detached house and have an Alpha combi boiler, installed in airing cupboard approx 2 years ago. From boiler theres 2 large pipes, approx 25mm which i presume is hot and cold running under floor and splitting into 2 main bedrooms, once in the bedrooms they join into manifolds. The manifolds then breakdown into 8 10mm microbore pipes feeding 8 radiators in total,4 at front of house,4 at rear.Radiators were origanally piped at one end with a double valve but over time this has been changed so nearly all rads now have a single valve at both sides. All valves are basic on/off valves,no trvs..Temprature is controlled by stat on front of boiler as plumber who fitted boiler disco room stat in living room??
All rads get hot very quickly when heating comes on and apart from worring about how often boiler trips on and off when heating is on(2 min intervals),,system seems to work ok..
Having read many posts about balancing systems and trvs ect,ive come to the conclusion that my system is very basic and possibly very inefficent..Your thoughts and advice if needed will be much appreciated..
