Following this on another thread. I can't get a plumber in today [sat ] so seeing if there is a simple fix. No stand by light on [ main power fuse Ok ], so I'm thinking fuses on the board. When I looked there was water coming from behind the 3 way valve. I'm an auto engineer - and I'm guessing water + electrics not good. I'm also assuming there must be a rubber seal that normally isolates the water from the valve.
If I'm correct so far, then my instincts are to remove the 3 way valve [ simple electric connector and clip ] and check condition of motor and see about ordering a seal repair kit.

Two very stupid questions from an auto engineer -

if I take the 3 way valve off to check - am I going to get a flood? Main water supply turned off.

Just where ARE the 2 fuses "on the PCB" ???

With a Wife and 3 daughters in the household you can see the stresss I'm under !!!!!!!!!! Help.............................

You should know that a fuse blows because of a FAULT causing an over cover.

You can remove the connector to the diverter valve motor and leave it off.

Thanx for the response [s ].

However, my question is - IF I remove the 3 way valve [ clip / electric connector ] will water come out from connector behind? Or do I need to drain the boiler down first?

Second - I realise that something is causing the fuses to blow - that's when I spotted the water and put 2 and 2 together. However, I've taken the cover off the PCB and cannot obviously see where the 2 fuses are.

As a temporary measure until the plumber can get here, if I leave the 3 way valve off as you suggest, can I select just DWH rather than CH ?

Thanx for your prompt response

Am I correct in assuming that the black plastic 3 way valve doesn't normally have water circulating round it? I'm thinking some sort of pressure on the pin in the hydroblock selects the water passages behind and is activated by the 3 way valve?

Could still do with the nod on whether water will flow out of the hydroblock once the 3 way valve is taken off?

Again the assumption is that if you can operate the system without it - then no !

What I don't want is a flood all over the kitchen floor.

The position of the 2 PCB fuses is still causing me headscratching. Are these fuses anything special, or are they easily available?

Any tips from those knowledgeable will be greatly appreciated
