have to replace two rads with new chrome ones. had advice to use bungs in the header tank but not sure if there is one. theres a cold mains feed with a shut off tap into the bottom of the boiler and the hot water comes out of the top of the boiler to the pump above. theres no drain down plug on the system. can someone help please.

It would be of some use if you could tell us what sort of system you have - combi, conventional, pressurised...???

You will need to isolate the supply to the CH system, and assuming that the new chrome rads may be of different size to current existing ones, that pipework will need to me modified, the system will likely need draining down.

My advice is to educate yourself about what the different parts of the system are called, and the basics of how it works, before you attempt to change any radiators. Googling will help, just make sure you're looking at UK information.
