"You wouldn't get a butcher to bake you a cake, so why get a builder to do your roof?"
Always get the right tradesmen to do their job. I don't mean to sound harsh and I realise that you have now had the job done but at least you know for next time.
If it's any comfort, the drip edge does look correct to me and by the sounds of it, it shouldn't be too expensive a job to be renewed if it does fail.
