Hello all,

I need help. My brother in law is currently trying to rehang some wooden doors on to the existing door frames in my 1950's exlocal authority flat. He is face mounting the hinges but has burned out three drill bits so far trying to get through the door frame and he is only on the first door!!

If anyone can suggest a way of getting through them or even a drill bit that will go through the metal (though the ones he is using are metal specific it would be a great help.

Thanks

L

i used these, and i too have metal d/frames,and these bits went through the metal like a knife through butter.

remember dont press too hard, coz when they snap, you end up getting hurt. ;)

Keep the drill bit cool,by immersing it in a bit of oil every so often when it gets hot,or ideally drill a pilot hole first and build it up to the size you want using different drill bits.

Raver.
