help needed motor valve

Hi Matt! Thanks for your input. Yes I was describing a correctly working valve.
Your comments are quite valid, but only if the 1st switch contacts connecting 'white' to motor are closed. If that switch is also in a triggered state, then that path is broken.
I can't imagine how both switches can be in a triggered state in the rest position. If they are it would suggest mid 'position' as determined by the Sw1 is the same as the rest position.
To get CH either the valve has had to move from HW position, or the valve has not been able to drop back fully to the HW position.
Difficult to determine exactly without seeing it. Although adjusting the position of the switches has rectified it.
