Hi all
I have a danfoss5001 room thermostat that is very poorly sited and all I want to do is site is somewhere else but without having to rewire.

I assume that I will have to buy a new thermostat ? and a paired rf tranmitter? is that right?

and I will just replace the present 5001 and place the new transmitter where i want it and that is all i need to do?

thanks for your help

Yes, that's the idea. The receiver replaces the existing thermostat and the remote unit has batteries in and sends a signal to the receiver that actually does the switching.

you wil need Live & Nuetral plus your switching Lives. Total of 4 wires

If replacing a standard thermostat (I don't know the Danfoss 5001, so I'm assuming it follows the usual pattern) you can share the "Live" so the normal arrangement with three wires will do. The diagram below shows a standard room stat and a Drayton Digistat. Others are similar.

Thanks all

the danfoss is powered by battaries so there are just the two switch wires

Correct you just need live and neutral for the receiver.. I usually place it adjacent to the boiler fused swtiched connection unit, to feed it line voltage, and most importantly from the same isolation source.
