I have build a studio on the side of my house. For the studio to be "part" of the house (i.e extra bedroom, bathroom, play room for the kids) or independant (rented), there is a double door (hotel style) between the house hallway and the studio, with a gap of 10 inches between the doors.
I have decided to rent the studio for now, and the doors are permanently looked.
What is the best way of sound proofing this area?
Thanks a lot for any advices.

how about some library style 'Quiet Please!' signs on both sides

I can only think that sealing up the double doors with a insulated studwall would be the fix. (if they are effectivly being used as separate houses han it should be fire separated anyway) are you in uk?(NI)?
