Help removing shower thermostat cartridge

Hi everyone!!

I've stripped down my shower controls and need to remove the thermostat cartridge but it won't budge

I'm pretty sure the cartridge is one of these from the shower set here

I've attached a picture of my exposed one - any ideas of how I get it out? I presume I just pull? Or am I missing something?

I've tried will all the force I can muster!

Look / feel underneath the central round threaded part. There may be an Allen grub screw holding the cartridge in place. Usually 2.5 m or 3mm.

Could it be held in via a grub screw where the little notch is on the left hand side or maybe even a thin screwdriver in it?
