If you look at the roller on either side, there should be a screw on a bracket fixing it in place with one on either side. You're going to have to get your head under and look up at the roller.

You'll need the size of the window, so crack it open and you'll see a label on the right......it will be one of three colours depending on the age.
On it you'll see some numbers and letters.
As Wayners has said, you'll see the type of blind fitted when you look to the top right of the blind - a sticker..
For example:
My window size was an S06
My blind designation was a DBL.
The velux blinds direct website takes you through all of this, and it is very friendly!
Just now they are offering 20% discount if ordering on line, and my basic blackout roller blinds came to £93 each.
Fitting couldn't be easier as they provide you with a positioning jig for the new blind (which won't have cords) and you need only a PZ2 screwdriver.
Expensive maybe but when you see the quality it's obvious why!
John :)

I can see the brackets on either side of the roller but no screws holding it in place.

Remove the aluminium channels at the sides - usually 3 screws - and the top part of the blind unclips from it's plastic dovetail.
John :)

Hi John,
There are no aluminium channels at the sides - this looks like an old style roller blind, it was in the house when I moved in.
This is what I can see at either end of the blind. I'm at a loss as to how to get the blind off.

I'm not familiar with that one, but looking at your first pic, is that an elongated slot that the blind central peg can slip down into?
John :)

Hi, I still haven't been able to remove the blinds. I tried to move central peg into the elongated but that slat of wood across stops it. I think the solution is remove the slat. Honestly who would have installed it like that, making it so difficult to remove.

Some roller blinds have one end which is spring loaded. Have you tried pushing the blind to one side to see if it moves? Then push the other way if it doesn't.

Thanks Conny and Wayners.
It's not spring loaded sadly. Sawing it in half is my next option.

Yeah. I'd of got saw out by now. Funny.
It's called escalating.
If that is not going well escalate again with a hammer. Ha

Finally success without needing a saw :giggle:..thank you all for your suggestions.
