Complete numpty here!!
We have this socket in our hallway, have never used it, don't even know what it's for!
Could some kind soul enlighten me please, and could it "simply" be just swapped over to a "normal" 3 pin socket and become a useful addition to the house???
Many thanks
Rob

Edit. Just checked with my voltage detector and there doesn't seem to be any power going to it???

I suspect it used to feed a storage heater.

Do you still have storage heaters/economy 7? can you provide a picture of your meter, consumer unit(s) etc?

No, we don't have economy 7 or storage heaters mate.
I'm going to get a local sparks in to have a look just to be on the safe side.
Might cost me a few bob but a new socket in the hallway would be worth it, and I want to be sure it's done correctly.
Thanks for your response though, it's much appreciated.
