Help to idenitify a shower "Bolding London"

Hi - can somebody please help me identify who makes the shower shown in the pic. It has the name "Bolding London" on it but I can't find any reference on the net

The thermostat is playing up so I need to take it apart.

Boldings were in existence in the late 19th and early 20th century. You can usually find their products on sites specializing in antique baths. Search for "J Bolding" showers.

I think yours must have been modified to take a thermostatic unit.

You should be able to dis-assemble the unit and extract the thermostat, which probably has identifying marks on it.
 
It's a long shot, but may be worth a try.

Neville Lumb are specialist suppliers and acquired a company called Folkard-Bolding many years ago.

Hi - I'm still strugglign with this one - here are a few shots of the inside of the shower. Because it only has one handle, I wonder if the temperature is pre-set internally.

Any ideas how I could replace the parts?

I have no idea how this can work with a single handle?

I 've got one of these. Please forgive a question on an old post but just how did you get the assembly in your picture out? Did it just pull out once the 4 brass screws were removed? I have exactly that assembly fairly loose in the outer casing but resisting even quite hard pulls, ie I'm nearly there. If you can confirm that it just needs more determination and will come in the end it would be an enormous help. Presumably it would just be limescale thats stopping mine.

Hi - I think from what I remember, I had to pull it out once all 4 were removed. I ended up having to replace my shower, which was a right pain given the non standard pipe centers.

I've got one of these too. Slightly different and I am puzzled by how one sets the temperature? Does the screw with the washer inside allow you to vary the cold/ hot in ratios? Otherwise I can't see how I can use it and I am just about to fit it as it looks so classy. Any information much appreciated.

The reassuring fact is it does work, very well in fact. The screw pulls the whole fitting that Nick shows so clearly towards the front of the unit. You will note that there are 2 basic valves with O rings these clearly lift initially but then the right hand side has a flange that (I guess) begins to restrict the flow of cold as it approaches the back of the cross piece. Thus the mixture gets hotter. Thats all conjecture on my part but the overiding fact is it does work

Thanks for that. I actually put it in yesterday but then got stuck because the pipe to the shower head is 3/4 imperial. I can clearly see the mechanism inside but I could not see a difference in the opening of the hot cold valves.
