Help with 2 gang 2 way switch

hello I am replacing a light switch, but hit some confusion.

In the old switch it had a pair of red wires in common, and a red in "1" and nothing in "2"

In my new switch theres a hole with no marking, than a L1 and L2.

I thought I would put the pair in the hole thats unmarked, and the single red in L1.

But something in my head tells me it should be the pair in L1 and the one on its own in the unmarked hole.

Leaving L2 untouched.

Any advice welcome?

No. It's just three one-gangs next to each other -

Although the centre one MAY be 'upside down'.

Ahh right I get you, opened one up and saw so many wires I quickly shut it up again

You'd see just as many if the switch was made with each gang the same way round.
