Help with a Ocean Alpha 240 eco please

I have the above combi boiler which is playing up. the hot water only workes in 30ish second bursts and the boiler keeps going off in between fireing up. there is an orange light on front which comes on intemitantly.
i have tried to check flue and seems clear.
i don't have a lot of spare cash (like everyone) and need an idea of whatit maight be so A) CAN TRY TO FIX MYSELF or B) NOT GET RIPPED OFF BY SOMEONE ELSE.

any advice will be greatly apreciated.
i live in DaventryNorthamptonshire if anyone knows or can recomend anyone local.

your not a diplomat are you ? hmmmm perhaps not, its probably the plate heat exchanger is blocked, is the central heating ok?

the heating seems to be working, but again the orange light on the front keeps coming on. the water is the main prob coz it making showering difficult as it only stays warm for 30 second bursts. just been online and the manual says is a prob with fan or flue?? does that sound possible?

depends if the heating is working properly or not, run the heating and listen if the boiler is cutting out.

the radiators are getting hot and warming the house but it is still cutting in and out, but it is more noticable on the water as it gets hot then cold in 30ish second cycles.
