Hoping to replace upstairs windows on a 3 bed semi and bay window. Now whittled down to 2.
First quote is for a local largish firm, with really good reviews online:
Rehau 70mm profiles
A rated - Pilkington KS glass argon filled
Swiss warm edged spacer
Fensa registered and insurance backed guarantee for 10 years.
Second quote - suggested to me who has done work for the fitter in the past:
Eurocell profiles (don't know exactly which one)
Argon filled Low E glass
10 year guarantee on frames, 5 on glass (or may be other way round!)
Need to pay for building control to check.
Second quote is around £1000 cheaper and includes the supply and fitting of a composite door
Has anybody any thoughts? Do I go for the cheaper option? Wife really wants to go for A rated, which the first are. Are the second ones likely to be A rated with the Low E glass and argon? Seems a really good price what with the door included. Is there going to be much difference between them that we will be able to tell.
Thanks for any thoughts/advice.
